Oracle is leaving Silicon Valley! The sky is falling!
Nope. It’s just one more ray of light from the Silicon Valley Meteor Shower. The diaspora of tech innovation has been going on for years. COVID is merely speeding things up.
Put it this way. Here’s where 10 of the most innovative people I work with live: New York, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Houston, Dublin, Cambridge (UK), Gothenburg, Seattle, Boston, Palo Alto.
That’s ten cities and six countries. Just one lives in California.
The implications of the Silicon Valley Meteor Shower are profound. I am a believer that proximity ignites innovation. That’s why The Valley is so unique. You can’t get a $240 steak, avocado sandwich, or go to Soul Cycle without bumping into a tech genius. Long live the water cooler.
